55th Kerala State Film Awards: Manjummel Boys, Mammootty and Shamla Hamza lead honours

The 55th Kerala State Film Awards were announced on November 3, 2025, with Manjummel Boys named Best Film. Chidambaram, who directed the survival drama, was recognised in the director's category.

Mammootty won Best Actor for his performance in Bramayugam, while Shamla Hamza took Best Actress for Feminichi Fathima. Soubin Shahir was among the other acting winners announced at the ceremony.

Manjummel Boys, based on a real rescue effort in the Guna Caves, had already become one of the biggest Malayalam releases of its year. The state awards added a fresh round of recognition to a film that had travelled well beyond Kerala.
